Daykota's story

My name is Daykota, I am an 18 month old Piebald Siberian Husky. I have had 3 homes in less than a year and I can’t understand why??? I am a very cute and sweet little boy, the only reason I can think of is that my other owners did’nt look into the breed and realise how demanding we are and how much work is needed into ensuring I stay a happy dog.

I was rescued by the Scottish Siberian Husky Club and stayed with a wonderful family for a short while until a permanent home came along. I was a very skinny dog because I was so stressed, all I wanted was a loving home, someone to cuddle me and make me feel special. I did’nt have to wait long as there was a couple who were looking to adopt a husky to have as a family member and a play friend for ther husky who is 5 ½ and called Diesel.   I still had a long way to go because all new homes are vetted and checked to ensure the safe upbringing and safe enviroment for me. They also wanted to see my NEW BIG BROTHER.

Finally the day after Boxing Day I was on my new journey, my new home forever. It was a bit scary as I had been with my foster family for a little while and had loads of other huskies and children to play with so I was a bit nervous.

I turned up after a 7 hour journey and we knocked on the door, Diesel did’nt take to me at first because I am the first ‘Husky’ he has come face to face with and also the very first dog that has been in ‘His House’. But after 3 days we have become the best of friends and go everywhere and do everything together, I would’nt be without my BIG BROTHER. We play together very well, although I can be a bit annoying at times because I am still a puppy and Diesel likes to sleep a lot but I want to play so I annoy him into it, but he loves it really, especially when I wash the top of his head!!!!

I have put all my weight back on and I am having a great time. I have my own little space at the bottom of the garden, mummy calls it my grave yard. She says I can keep it until they start to do up that end, I take all my toys down there and when I pinch Diesel’s bone that goes down there too. However now that the top end of the garden has been done I tend to leave my toys and treats wherever I want to.

I love my new family, home, toys and especially Diesel, he has given up so much for me. I sleep in his bed, I pinch all his toys and he has given up a quiet life for me, AH BLESS.

The best day of the week is Sunday as we get a Sunday Lunch followed by a run (we can be let of our leads in a secure enclosed field) in a local field, it’s just great and we have so much fun with the football. Anyway I’d better go and have some dinner now WOOF WOOF XXXXX

My mummy just wants to say a huge THANKYOU to everyone involved in rehoming me, especially Karen Neville and to everyone who helped take care of me and helped with my safe arrival to my new home. xxx

Here are just a small selection of some of the Siberian Huskies
we have re-homed.
