Well it started off not knowing if the rally would go ahead when Aileen was unable to be organiser as for this rally, but the committee worked hard in reviewing the situation and together a group of us took over the workload on this occasion.  It’s always good for organisers to hear what everyone thinks and most people said the weekend was very good, but still had a relaxed and friendly atmosphere which is sort of typical of SSHC rallies, whilst keeping that professional approach.

The weather on Saturday could have been drier, however it was not as bad as other weekends have been, our spirits were lifted by Jim Gallachers fun approach to the mushers meeting, most of us were in stitches by the end of it.

Everyone was notified of the jobs they had to do and this was covered over both days so thanks to those who helped make the rally a success.  The weather improved on Sunday which was a bonus.  Temperatures averaged between 5-9 degrees over both days. The planned trails had to be re-arranged on the Friday this was due to the high winds which had taken some trees down but still managed to lay out a trail which was slighty different giving 3.9 miles for 6 & 4 dogs and the 3 & 2 dog teams did 3.2 miles. 

Juniors did a shorter trail which was the opposite way round to what they had did before and they all said they enjoyed it.

An entry of 50 odd teams we hope everyone enjoyed the weekend.

Distance 3.9mile undulating trail……various conditions underfoot but nothing to harm dogs feet. Weather conditions drizzling rain off and on with occasional heavy showers and slight winds, temp range 6 – 9 degrees

E CLASS ( 2-3) Dog Team  distance 2.8 mile trail mostly undulating, some parts quite soft /grassy or hard packed surface but with the current rain fall nothing that could hurt dogs feet.
